Returning the 60 Blog

I need the kind of vacation where I end up with sand in my swimsuit and margarita salt in my cleavage.

Wednesday.  Vacation is over.  Time to load up the car and head back through the desert after our Las Vegas boondoggle.  I was thankful that my friend Jeanette drove her new car.  Roomy, comfortable, and I was able to snooze for a few minutes in the back seat.

And when I woke up from my power nap, I had a pain in my shoulder.  It was like my body was saying “Welcome to 60 bitch!” I didn’t feel welcome in any way, so I just watched the scenery whiz by and wished we were home already.  Leslie and I made plans on the way home from Jeanette’s house to do laundry, eat dinner, watch some recorded TV and maybe go to bed early.  Uh, no, it didn’t work out that way.  We opened mail and threw in a load of laundry.  Three hours later, that load is still in the washer.  =(

But enough about boring and mundane.  Las Vegas was a great weekend of friends, eating, money, and birthday celebrations.  Five of us agreed to partner with our bingo winnings, if any, and on the second-to-last game on the second day, we helped Jeanette yell BINGO!  As it turns out, there were two other winners in the room, so the $10,000 prize was split three ways, and then five of us split the $3334.  After tipping the bingo workers, we each went home with a nice chunk of change.  Patty, Leslie and I immediately went to the box office and purchased tickets for the March bingo gala, and paid cash!

All-in-all, the weekend was pretty profitable for me and lots of fun.  I spent time with childhood friends, adult friends, and enjoyed the birthday celebration.  Thank you to everyone who shared their love with me.
