Ina Garten: Entertaining is about celebrating connections, and I think that’s what makes life worth living.
There have been dozens of photos posted on Facebook t0day of friends’ Thanksgiving dinners, and everything looks lovely. For the first time, Leslie and I chose to buy a premade turkey dinner from a local grocery store and, of course, we were skeptical at first. As it turned out, the dinner was fantastic!
Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie. The instructions for reheating were spot-on and dinner was ready in a little more than two hours. Some of our invited guests didn’t attend at the last minute, which meant we all got to keep leftovers. So tomorrow, after Leslie and I binge-watch the Gilmore Girls revival, we will have another turkey dinner!
Marcy and Mark brought their dog, Miguel, and Clooney (Leslie’s cat) was a bit over-stimulated. We don’t think he’s ever met another animal, so Clooney was sniffing and trying to mark his home. Miguel was just mellowing out on Mommy’s lap. Just another example of Thanksgiving love and family.
And we’ve already done our Black Friday shopping. Ulta and Bath & Body Works and we are finished for the season!
Note: I wanted to upload a picture of our dining room table, but I couldn’t get it to work. Instead, we’re going with a picture of what my table would have looked like if we had made the food. Just kidding!
