Awaiting the 60 Blog

Image result for waiting imageI wish I was drunk, on a beach in Mexico, being fed tacos and margaritas by Antonio, the sexy cabana boy, whose only English consists of “you very beautiful, senorita,” and “another margarita, princessa?”

We have a cruise vacation coming up shortly and I was on the phone today with Carnival confirming a few things.  I needed to know if we could pay our $5 fee before the cruise in order to have texting capability with other friends on the ship with us.  I needed to confirm what time we reserved for check-in so I can ensure that my Countdown phone app is correct to the exact second.  (Currently, we are 24 days, 21 hours, 15 minutes and 51 seconds away from embarkation.)

Carnival offers a service called “Faster to the Fun.”  For $69 per cabin, you can board earlier, guarantee dinner reservations, and other perks.  I think we’ll be treated just as royally when we check in as those who paid for the package.  For me, though, the sail date can’t come soon enough.

Can you tell that I’m excited?  I’ve become aware of my stress and relaxation levels during the day, and I anticipate less stress and more relaxation during those seven days in January.  And then what?  I rely on my calendar and love to plan things, so knowing there’s a vacation on the books helps my stress level.  We booked this cruise about nine months ago, and I’m going to do everything I can on this upcoming cruise to win a free cruise for 2018.

I recently heard of a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend who actually won a free cruise.  I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t be me (okay, I’ll open the winning possibility to Leslie too) to win a cruise for 2018.  Keep your fingers crossed.

I hope my faithful readers (all dozen of you) will forgive me when I don’t post during the week we’re at sea.  Cruise ship wi-fi is too damned expensive.  Plus, I’m sure I’ll have plenty to write about when I return.  But relax, you still have to read my musings for another 24 days.
