Nanea Hoffman: The only thing I know for sure about today is coffee. Everything else is just wild speculation.
Groundhog Day is today and Punxsatawney Phil tells us we’ll have six more weeks of winter. Ladies, it’s almost time to stock up on razors and get your legs in shape for spring!
It’s that time when you get out your calendar (paper or electronic, your choice) and mark down the important February observances. You’re not going to want to miss celebrating National Dizzy Week starting on February 8!
February 2: Can we combine crepe day and heavenly hash day? Don’t forget to play your ukulele today too.
February 3: another combined holiday: bubble gum day and Give Kids a Smile Day. And don’t forget to wear red in honor of the American Heart Association’s Wear Red Day. (It’s also Working Naked Day….but I wouldn’t take the chance, if I were you.)
February 4: Eat ice cream for breakfast today while you’re having your hair cut on barber day. And don’t forget to take your child to the library today.
February 5: You’ll be watching the Super Bowl, of course, but it’s also shower-with-a-friend day, so I hope your team wins.
February 6: Get out and buy those Girl Scout Cookies today, and then have Asian food for dinner, celebrating National Chopsticks Day.
February 7: It’s Send a Card to a Friend Day, along with Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day. I assume you have both friends and neighbors.
February 8: If you successfully celebrate Laugh and Get Rich Day today, let me know your secret.
February 9: Breakfast (National Bagels & Lox Day) and dinner (Pizza Pie Day) are taken care of today.
February 10: Subscribe to an old-fashioned newspaper today (All the News That’s Fit to Print Day). You’ll be glad you did.
February 11: It’s National Make a Friend Day and National Shut-In Visitation Day, so why not celebrate both by picking up some York Peppermint Patties to share on Peppermint Patty Day?
February 12: Keep your eyes open and look down; it’s National Lost Penny Day.
February 13: Coincidence? It’s Desperation Day and Madly in Love with Me Day.
February 14: Another coincidence? Valentine’s Day and Extraterrestrial Visitor Day?
February 15: I will definitely be celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day. Will you?
February 16: Do you know any celebrating Do a Grouch a Favor Day?
February 17: I’m not sure what to think. My Way Day.
February 18: Once again, breakfast (Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day) and dinner (Drink Wine Day) are covered. Or will you celebrate National Hate Florida Day?
February 19: National Chocolate Mint Day.
February 20: Love your Pet Day. Just don’t allow your pet to celebrate National Cherry Pie Day with y0u.
February 21: Card Reading Day and National Sticky Bun Day.
February 22: It’s Inconvenience Yourself Day and National Margarita Day. I say, go out of your way for a cocktail today.
February 23: It’s National Banana Bread Day and National Dog Biscuit Day. Don’t confuse the two!
February 24: Salty! National Tortilla Chip Day.
February 25: It’s Quiet Day today. So celebrate National Chocolate Covered Nuts Day with your mouth closed.
February 26: It’s National Bacon Day and World Pistachio Day. These are great snacks when you’re watching the Oscars tonight.
February 27: Together at last? National Kahlua Day and National Strawberry Day.
February 28: A great combination: International Pancake Day and National Chocolate Souffle Day.
And if you need a little extra exercise this month, don’t forget it’s Return Shopping Carts to the Supermarket Month.
