I got drunk last night and decided to do my own taxes. I’m getting back 4 million dollars this year!
We worked on getting our paperwork together for our CPA to prepare our taxes in a couple of weeks. I’ve always been willing to have too much tax taken out during the year so I could get back a refund.
But this year may be different. Months of employment income, months of unemployment income, employer-sponsored health insurance, and health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. I have no idea how this will all play out when the numbers are all crunched in the CPA’s magic computer.
Every year, I promise I’ll keep my papers in order and then, when it’s time, I’ll just pull out my folder and everything will be ready-to-go. And every year, it doesn’t happen. So this year, I went from a drawer to a file cabinet, a shopping bag to a few folders, and I think I pulled it all together.
And that’s all I have to say about taxes. What more is there?
