Jose N. Harris: Some people live in a bitter, angry hate-filled world. Some people live in a friendly, caring, love-filled world. Same world.
We met for book club today, minus three members. But the eight of us, as usual, shared stories and solved the world’s problems. I look forward to our monthly get-togethers because we catch up on our goings-on.
Two new jobs, one new house, and two vacations. One gal leaves next week for a road trip through Waco and Austin and she’ll be visiting Magnolia Farms. Perhaps she’ll run into Chip and Joanna Gaines as they’re shooting an episode of Fixer Upper. Another gal is visiting family in upstate New York; are they done with the snow yet?
Those of us who read the book had a stimulating conversation about spirituality and symbolism, while the rest of us talked about Mary’s condo. As I write this, I’m watching a rerun of Flip or Flop and I can imagine us having our next book club gathering in the flip that Tarek and Christina just remodeled in Rancho Palos Verdes. The next episode showcased another million dollar flip, and I’m wishing that Tarek and Christina would come to my house really soon.
We ended our lunch with a gift from Heidi of yummy See’s Candy Easter eggs in a lovely Easter bunny bowl. Sweet, savory, and very friendly indeed.
