Change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end.
I recently saw a license plate that read PUSH4WD. It made me think. I posted a quote yesterday that read: “Most people don’t think I’m as old as I am until they hear me stand up.”
How many times do you wake up in the morning and wish you could just fall back and snuggle in again? Do you grunt and groan on your way to the bathroom in the morning (or in the middle of the night)? I used to pride myself on sleeping through the night while Leslie would complain about getting up twice during the night. As I get older, I’m getting up more and groaning more. And I swear this feeling-old nonsense came upon me within a short time. I felt fine one week and old the next.
What do we know about aging? Do you accept that you’re getting older? Or are you fighting it tooth and nail? Do you surround yourself with people your age, or do you have meaningful conversations with millennials? Are you open to learning new things from those young ‘uns?
My first thought when I heard “pushing forward” is about aging gracefully. If you do a Google search, however, pushing forward is more about perseverance, hard work, being happy, challenging yourself.
Am I the only one who defined “pushing forward” the way I did? What do you think?
